Sneak Peek!! Our Jackalope effigy is up & ready... waiting for you all to arrive.

It's a whirlwind of activity all over town with projects finishing up & participants getting ready for ELement 11 2016 - Jackalope Rodeo! We've even had documented reports of Jackalope sightings!!

There were over 40 volunteers hard at work this past weekend at Stargazer Ranch. The Volunteer Lounge got built & fed our volunteers like kings! Want to be part of our dearly loved and appreciated setup crew? Join us next weekend to help build Center Camp, the Temple, miles of road signs, and more! We'll feed you, you'll make lifelong memories with new friends, and volunteering is all the latest rage! Click here to RSVP for WBTC #2! As well, check out he volunteer signups below & work a shift or two during Element 11 to earn meal pogs so you also can share in these delicious meals prepared by our Volunteer Lounge with love.
Be sure to read all the information in this issue - we want you to be as well prepared as possible for your Jackalope Rodeo adventure. And, speaking of being prepared - do you have your ticket yet?! Only 156 tickets remain as of 11am this morning. Don't miss out on this epic adventure! You can still get tickets at IconoCLAD downtown SLC or online at element11.org.

E11 Ice Sales - FRIDAY ONLY

Ice is ONLY available on Friday afternoon (July 15th) sometime between 11 and 3 at the front gate. We will announce via the bullhorn when the truck arrives. So be sure to bring enough ice to keep your food safe until Friday, and buy enough to last until Sunday.

Gate Time Correction

Our apologies that the Survival Guide does not list the correct gate times - we are happy to know that many people have noticed this, thereby have read their Survival Guide! The gate will be open as follows:
  • Wednesday - Friday, 10am - 10pm
  • Saturday, 10am - 6pm
If you can't arrive during gate hours, security will be able to grant you access. However, you will miss the gate & greeters welcome and information. So, please try, if possible, to arrive during gate hours.

And, if you haven't done so already - READ THE SURVIVAL GUIDE! There are dangers out there! Be prepared!! And, don't taunt the snakes, scorpions, jackrabbits, jackalopes, or Juggalo's!

Driving to Stargazer Ranch

Travel to the event is dangerous! Element 11 is in a very remote area with little to no cell phone coverage and no services. The closest gas station is in Snowville which is about 1.5 hours from the event. Be prepared for your journey with a well-maintained vehicle, a full tank of gas, extra food, water, and spare tire. We also recommend that you leave a travel plan with someone.

DO NOT attempt to walk, hitchhike, or ride a bicycle to Stargazer Ranch. Yes, it's silly we have to actually say this, but for reals. Don't attempt to get there any way other than driving or ride-sharing in a well-maintained vehicle.

Click here for directions & maps to Stargazer Ranch.

A link to our Ride-share spreadsheet is here if you need to find a ride or have extra room to give a ride!

Jackalope Rodeo Map

Numerical key will be shared in the What Where When Guide for Art Placement. Look for that about a week before Element 11!

We Need Volunteers!

We hate to keep repeating ourselves on this, but we still have LOTS of volunteer shifts that need filled. If everyone attending would just take one shift, all the shifts would be full! As a 100% volunteer staffed event, we can't do this without you.

Many shifts are just 2 hours and a great way to meet new people. Volunteering really does add a fantastic element to your experience. It's a blast!

And remember we also have a Volunteer Recognition program which earns you a discounted/free ticket the following year. Here is a link to that policy:

This festival would not happen without our awesome volunteers!

YEEEEHAAAAAAWWW!!!! Suddenly, dazzling lights blaze as countless jackrabbits start cheering. A bell rings, a gate swings open releasing a whirlwind of dust with patches of fur, long ears, and…antlers?

Surely this can’t be real—you reason—jackalopes are only a cowboy practical joke. Yet, there you are, smack dab in the middle of a genuine JACKALOPE RODEO. Hold on for your hat, pardner; you’re in for a wild ride of mythic proportions!

Join us, Wednesday, 7pm, at Center Camp for the Opening Ceremonies for the one and only Element 11 Jackalope Rodeo!

Fire Safety Information

Uncontrolled fire that threatens camps or the event itself is a VERY real and present danger at Stargazer. The nearest fire station is 1.5 hours away. In order to protect life and property at E11, please observe the following fire rules:
  • Have a fire extinguisher in your camp.
  • Keep fires low.
  • Ensure sparks/embers are not flying off; put fires out in case of high winds.
  • Burn barrel or campfire containers must have a screen and must have a 20ft area cleared around it of vegetation, structures, vehicles, tents, etc.
  • NO open/ground/camp fires. All fire bust be contained/elevated.
  • NO unscheduled burns. All structures or installations must be pre-approved.
  • NO unattended fires. Someone must be present at all times when a fire is burning. A shovel, water pail, or other means of firefighting must be present.
  • NO fireworks regardless of the type/size; they are illegal and the potential to ignite a wildfire with them is stupid high!
  • NO crossing burn perimeters. Crossing a perimeter during a scheduled burn will get you evicted from the event. Especially if Rangers (the sandmen) have to intervene.
Also, we need volunteers to help our Volunteer Fire Department team. If you want to be part of this vital team & help us ensure safety during our Element 11 burns, join our Engine 11 Facebook group today!
