News and Notes
The new shoes.
You want news? I gots me some new(s) shoes!
Well, first the bad news: the old shoes -- Reebok Nano 2.0s -- have a small hole in the toe. One of the main reasons I got these was for the rubber toe covering since this is a common problem for me. (I'm looking at you, New Balance Minimuses. Minimi? Whatever.) Alas, it happened anyway, as you can see. They're less than year old!
So what are the new shoes? Reebok Nano 2.0s. I know, right? Well, here's why:
- I like "minimalist" shoes with a low heel-drop.
- These are actually pretty good for cross-training, including lifting.
- Ordered a pair of Mizuno shoes (on sale) but alas they were too tight. (I wear their Wave Universe shoes for running.)
- To be fair to the old Nano shoes, I wore them everywhere...not just for training. (You can tell from the picture that they're pretty beat up.) Except I don't normally use them for running (see Mizuno comment above), but they suffice in a pinch.
But the main reason I got them is they were on sale during Amazon Prime Day. Minimalist shoes tend to be $100 and up which is kind of ridiculous considering there's less to them. These were close to half that...in white. Would have preferred black but not for $40 more. Plus when a hole turns up in the toe it won't be so obvious with my white socks.
There you have it: more than you thought you needed to know about my footwear. At least it wasn't news about my socks.
Be seeing you.
