gestippeld, gestreept, geruit en verbloemd
Throughout history clothing has expressed culture and identity.
In the exhibition gestippeld, gestreept, geruit en verbloemd I will show a serie of new paintings and drawings. Paintings in gray and black/white egg-tempera and drawings in charcoal and pencil, where women in traditional (folk) costumes form the subject. Paintings and drawing where the history is palpable and the identity remains mysterious, based on photos from the past, brought into the present.

july art challenge
For July I am invited by Alison Owen to participate in everydaystudio. Alison Owen is an artist working in Brooklyn, NY. everydaystudio involves 90 artists who have agreed to create and share something with Alison each day. She then looks for the threads that connect different artists, and makes them visible in daily curations. This project explores the ways that artmaking can be a long and rambling conversation among creative people, where ideas surface and resurface in different practices.
