Access and Barriers to Online Education for People with Disability

 ADCET and the Australian Tertiary Education Network on Disability (ATEND), in partnership with the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE) are excited to be able to bring you this free webinar. Mike Kent will present on his NCSEHE funded research that looked into students with disability studying online in higher education in Australia, and will discuss some unexpected findings about the nature of the students with disability studying in the circumstances. Louisa Alessandri Memorial Fund Scholarship  Applications are now invited for the Louisa Alessandri Memorial Fund Scholarship, now valued at $10,000.  The  Scholarship is intended to help students, residing in Western Australia, with a physical, vision or hearing disability to achieve their career aspirations. Research participants required: Investigating the barriers to students with disability of completing an HDR qualification  The aim of the study is to find the barriers to students with disability completing a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) qualification. Further information »

2016 Equity Fellows Programme  The National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE) at Curtin University has been charged with managing the Programme.  Six Fellowships will be awarded between 2015 and 2017. The value of each Fellowship will be up to $215,000, covering engagement of a Fellow for a period of 12 months (full-time equivalent). Further information »

The ATEND Pathways Conference is a bi-annual event organised by the Australian Tertiary Education Network on Disability (ATEND). The conference brings together disability practitioners, NDCOs and a range of other professional, academic staff and students with disability to identify and remove barriers for people with disability participating in higher education and training.

Pathways 13 centres around the theme; Changes, Challenges and Choice – embracing the future. The Pathways 13 conference will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Pathways in Australia. Exploring the past 25 years will enable us to look back since the first Pathways Conference in Geelong in 1991, and explore Changes in the field of higher education and training for people with disability and look forward to the Challenges and Choices of the future.   Further information: http://www.pathways.consec.com.au/
