This new monthly e-mail series from Guelph & Area Right to Life aims to provide pastors and church leaders with useful resources regarding pro-life issues.

Hope in Turmoil

Expectant parents whose child in the womb is diagnosed with a medical condition can have a difficult journey ahead of them. Whether they have received a diagnosis that is life-altering, such as Down Syndrome, or life-limiting, such as anencephaly, they will need support from their faith community. This is especially true when parents face pressure from the medical community to have an abortion. Thankfully, there are many helpful resources for pastors who are walking with couples during this time:

Book: Hope in Turmoil

This resource provides personal stories from parents who have received a difficult pregnancy diagnosis. In addition, there are lists of helpful support organizations from across Canada to assist parents. Published by Alliance for Life Ontario.

Ministry: Morning Light

Morning Light Ministry is a ministry for parents facing an adverse prenatal diagnosis, and also for bereaved mothers and fathers who have experienced the death of their baby through ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death. This Catholic ministry also welcomes parents of other Christian denominations, of other faiths, or no religious affiliation. Learn More.

Video: Dear Future Mom

Children with Down Syndrome speak words of encouragement to an expectant mom. This video was made for World Down Syndrome Day in 2014.
