Excited to support local business, Cohort 1's Senior Scholarship Celebration took place at theMagic Events Centerin East Las Vegas on Friday May 20, 2016 with 200+ supporters in attendance. Every student was accepted to a four-year college including acceptances in 7 different states. Students and parents shared their reflections and each student received a $400 scholarship. Every student has at least one parent without a college degree and many are the first in their family to graduate from high school, yet, LIT families were the biggest supporters of the event with families donating scholarship money & food for the evening.
With their community and for their community, LIT students commit to becoming social justice advocates and future leaders. LIT will continue to support C1+ and C1 students while in college and Cohorts 2, 3, 4 & 5 students during the 2016-2017 school year. Because of your support, we are proving with equitable opportunity all students can and will become the next-generation of diverse leaders who change the world. #LIT
