Kinsler smacks #18

 Games played July 16, 2016

Detroit 2B Ian Kinsler homered for the second straight game Saturday, adding a double and two double plays in an 8-4 loss to Kansas City. He and teammate Miguel Cabrera share the team lead with 18 HRs, and Kinsler is alone at the top with 55 RBIs. Kinsler is exceeding his career levels in batting average (.294 versus .277), OBP (.351 versus .344), and slugging (.508 versus .451). The only obvious negative: with 71 strikeouts already, he is on pace to demolish his season high of 90, in 2012.

Milwaukee LF Ryan Braun had two singles and a walk in four plate plate appearances as the Brewers hammered Cincinnati 9-1. His .314 batting average is tied for 8th place in the National League.

Toronto CF Kevin Pillar and Oakland 3B Danny Valencia faced each other again Saturday, but both went hitless in the A's 5-4 win.

Houston reliever Scott Feldman pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in a 1-0 loss to Seattle, yielding a hit and no walks while striking out two.

Yankees reliever Richard Bleier pitched a scoreless 9th inning in a 5-2 loss to Boston. Despite giving up a hit, Bleier retired the Red Sox on just 9 pitches.
