Dear Friends,

Time to slow down.  Around here, August is the quiet month.  On the farm however, we are on the verge of swimming in tomatoes, so it’s time to pull out your favorite tomato recipes, or just eat them like apples.

I look forward to recharging over the next four weeks, exploring the food scene in NY from the Rockaways to Kingston, stopping at urban farms, green rooftops and roadside farm stands as I drive around in my bumper sticker-covered Highlander.
