Women Build Blitz Week - June 6-10, 2016
The 2016 Women Build Blitz week got off to and wet and dreary start but was soon warmed up by the energetic spirit of the Women Build volunteers. Volunteers came to learn, to share and to help build a safe affordable home for purchase.
This year's partner family, who will be purchasing the Women Build sponsored house, is Jennifer and her four children. Jennifer worked tirelessly, side-by-side with volunteers as we installed her plywood floors, framed, sheeted and stood up her walls and then put her roof trusses in place. Oh, and don’t forget all that lovely blue Styrofoam that was installed with such precision! Jennifer's house continues to take shape with contributions from many volunteers and soon Jennifer and her four children will be able to make this house into a home.

Thank you to Ruth & Lisa Hastings for championing the Build a Future Campaign. They engaged their friends and acquaintances to inspire them to make a donation to the campaign between January and May 2016. During this period, 37 contributors raised over $52,000. They celebrated with an appreciation luncheon on June 7th.
Additionally, some of the ladies gathered to assemble and decorate planters which will be gifted to Jennifer, and other Habitat partner families. This was the fourth year this fantastic group of people have banded together - they have collectively raised over $250,000 through this campaign!

On Sunday, April 24, 2016 Habitat for Humanity Women Build held its 6th annual Garden Party Fashion Show at the Delta Winnipeg Hotel. Themed 'Prairie Garden', attendees were treated to a signature Prairie Sangria beverage and enjoyed the beautiful fashions of local boutiques.
Thanks to our sponsors, boutiques, models, guests and amazing volunteers, this year was our most successful fashion show to date with a sold out crowd! Some of the highlights included fashions from 13 local boutiques, 6 Winnipeg Themed Major Gift Baskets, 18 prize baskets, fun and upbeat runway music, amazing food and a great Emcee Host – Michelle Lissel from Global.
We are excited for 2017 and hope to see you at the next Garden Party Fashion Show.

The Amazing Foot Rally presented by Canadian Footwear
Part scavenger hunt, part foot rally, with lots of fun challenges and tasks!
What a Great Race!
Women Build held its 4th annual Amazing Foot Rally on May 15th. Teams of 2 or more picked up clues, completed tasks and puzzles while they raced through Assiniboine Park & Zoo. This year we had the added excitement of Express and Yield Passes. The more teams raised for Habitat, the more passes they could earn. Congratulations and Thank You to all the teams and our volunteers who participated in The Amazing Foot Rally.

The 7th annual Holes for Homes Golf Event in support of Habitat for Humanity Manitoba's Women Build took place Friday, June 3, 2016.
Despite a wet morning shotgun, the golfers were able to participate in all the events on the course and were treated to an amazing meal and great prizes!
The positive approach to the event by sponsors, golfers and volunteers, given the weather conditions, showed the commitment by all to support Women's Build and our partner family.
Women Build is a program that promotes women as leaders and provides the opportunity to help construct sponsored homes in our community. Our focus is on "Building Home. Inspiring Hope. Empowering Women".
Thank you to all of the sponsors, prize donors, volunteers, golfers, management and staff of the Lorette Golf and Country Club and the Holes for Homes Committee. Together we raised over $20,000!

21st Annual Scattered Seeds Craft Market
