World Future Energy Forum (WFEF) 2016 successfully held in Beijing

WFEO Standing Technical Committee on Energy organized the successful World Future Energy Forum (WFEF) 2016 was successfully held on 29th June at the China National Conventional Center, Beijing, China. The Forum was co-organized with the Energy Internet Research Institute (EIRI) and Tsinghua University and sponsored by the Chinese Society for Hydropower engineering (CSHE) and Hohai University, supported by Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd.

The Forum focused on sustainable energy development which is one of the 17 goals of the 2015 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Goal No. 7 is related to energy, which is to “ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all”.

This forum invited famous experts from China and continents including Asia, Africa, Europe and Oceania, and asked them to analyze problems and propose solutions in terms of technology, environment, society and economy. This forum is hosted by Prof. Ruo-Mei Li from the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSHE) and Vice Chair of the WFEO Standing Technical Committee on Energy. Distinguished guests and speakers include WFEO President Elect Dr. Marlene Kanga and various members of the WFEO Energy Committee and Executive Board.
