GIANT Scarecrow Building Contest
In celebration of our hardworking agricultural community in St John’s county, Rype & Readi is holding a GIANT Scarecrow Building Activity and Competition. This contest is open to registered groups through September. Judging will take place on October 1, 2016. They will stand prominently in the pasture until Saturday, October 29, 2016 when we host the second annual SCARECROW BURNING MAN!
We will be burning the scarecrows to mark the opening of the SPOOKS ON Haunted Mansion at Rype & Readi.
We invite school groups, sport teams, local clubs and businesses to build your own scarecrow. We encourage families, school groups and civic organizations to take up the challenge and let their imagination and creative skills create some eye catching entries.
We provide a planted telephone pole and straw. Use your creative talents to bring burlap, clothing, and accessories to represent your school, club or group as you see fit. Expert assistance from our scarecrow techs will be available! Feel free to bring your own “add-ons” to really customize your scarecrow. It’s a great way to show your school spirit or promote fellowship in your group!
Contest Judging Categories include:
- Funniest Scarecrow
