FFV supports new coaches in their own club

FFV has launched a new program to create a support network for inexperienced coaches.

Coaches will be supported by their Club Coach Coordinators who in turn will have support from an FFV mentor.

"The idea behind the program is to support coach development from within the club environment rather than solely through courses which in turn will hopefully improve player development and enjoyment," coach education manager, Craig Moore said.

"We want the players to have lots of touches on the ball, no standing around and most of all have FUN".

Nearly 400 coaches and 57 clubs are participating.

Does your club want to host a referee course

The FFV Referees Department is able to administer and provide instructors for any club wishing to hold a Level 4 Referee course (this is the introductory level course).

Clubs can host a course for 10 – 30 of their players, coaches, parents or volunteers. Any club which has less than 10 participants may wish to combine with another club. The cost is $125 per person.

Each course needs a classroom setting (club rooms) and a pitch so participants can complete the theory (3hrs) as well as the practical training (3hrs) components of the course.

If your club is interested in hosting a course please email referees@ffv.org.au with the details of the date and a booked venue for the course.

ACL Rehabilitation

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the important ligaments that stabilise your knee joint. If you have torn (ruptured) this ligament, the knee can collapse or ‘give way’ when making twisting or turning movements.

An ACL rupture happens as a result of a twisting injury to the knee. The common causes are football and skiing injuries. You can injure other parts of your knee at the same time, such as tearing a cartilage or damaging the joint surface.
