Update & Events
Hello TCD Members,
First off for those looking to get out and ride this weekend, the Washtenaw County Adventure & Sport Touring Rides are this Saturday (details below).
And now for the big announcement, the club has a new Website and Forum thanks to our new Webmaster and Website Administrator Dale Estes! Also, a huge thank you goes out to John Fishbeck for serving as Webmaster for the past several years - great job John!
Dale has work closely with our VP Mike Eckstein these last couple of months to provide our club with something that is really amazing. The new website is actually a WordPress Online Magazine, which means you no longer have to wait for these updates, or have your inboxes flooded with oversized pictures.
The new website is a live, real-time club update that provides articles and pictures from the most recent events. These pictures and articles are submitted by our members so everyone has a voice in the club.
This is very exciting news, if you haven't already visited the new website you should spend some time reading through the latest articles. This is just the start of something that could be much bigger, think monthly member columns, possibly live MOA, RA and AMA updates, the sky is the limit until Dale says no.

Washtenaw ADV Ride and Sport Touring Ride
July 9th - this Saturday
We will have dueling adventure and sport touring rides this Saturday leaving from the Inverness Inn. TCD Veep Mike Eckstein will lead a group of TCD dual sport and ADV riders over some fine roads in the vicinity of Washtenaw County. While our new webmaster extraordinaire, Dale Estes will lead a group of Sport Tourers to Jackson and back on some paved twisties. Check TCD message forum for updates.
- Meet at Inverness Inn @ 9am for Breakfast
- Depart BoB with full tank of gas at 10am
BMW MOA Das Rally July 14-17th: Hamburg, NY
Ice Cream Ride July 17th: Mike Osmer will lead the intrepid, if full, TCD breakfast crowd to top off their meal at The Daily Scoop in Mason. Yummmm. Meet up with Mike at 10 AM following the TCD Sunday breakfast at Pinckney.
Annual UP DS Ride Aug 5-8th:
There’s just no stopping TCD dual sporter Dave Allgood! The past 4 years have found brave (foolish?) TCD dual sporters heading into the Yoop for a dual sport ride. This year it might be the Yoop, or perhaps the northern lower peninsula area around Mancelona. Previous rides have been fine adventures; no reason this one won’t be more of the same. Keep your eyes on the TCD message forum from time to time for further details.

New & Old business:
Breakfast Schedule (Calendar): The official start time of the Sunday Breakfast is now 8:30am
Risk management: D&O and liability insurance policies have been procured for the club. We signed a 3 year contract at a cost of about $850 per year for both policies. VP Mike Eckstein is doing excellent job leading this committee and may be implementing additional risk management initiates in the near future.
Webmaster: Dale Estes is now our new webmaster, which means we'll need to plan a proper TCD retirement party for John Fishbeck!
