Changes to class timetable over the school summer holidays

We have tried to keep as many classes running as possible over the summer holidays but there will be some changes to the regular timetable.  Some classes such as Zumba Gold are running as normal throughout, but other classes such as Yoga will be taking a short break and returning in September.

Berkeley Afternoon Tea Party

Please share with your family and friends... Everyone is warmly invited to an Afternoon Tea Party this coming Friday 15 July on the lawn outside Jenner Court, Salter Street, Berkeley from 2pm-4pm.  This special event is being organised by World Jungle to celebrate the work of our ‘Full of Life’ project in Berkeley and Sharpness over the past few months.

It is open to everyone to come and enjoy afternoon tea and cake with entertainment from the fabulous Richard Love singing classics from the 1940s & 50s (pictured below) - and some stalls to browse too.

The ‘Full of Life’ project which was supported by Gloucestershire County Council’s Community Chest Fund, focused on improving the health and well being of older people, helping people to stay active and feel connected in their community. Activities have included regular sessions held at venues across Berkeley and Sharpness, supporting existing clubs and service providers, together with offering training for volunteers around supporting older people to maintain their independence and stay active in their communities.

Carnival Dance Fun this summer

Just to say a huge thank you to all who joined and supported our Jungalicous dancers at some fantastic local events this summer including the Dursley Festival on 25 June and the Thornbury Carnival on 2 July.

Please follow this link to see some fantastic photos from the Thornbury Carnival where our dancers followed the amazing Ghia Chia Samba Band in a procession through the town. During the afternoon, Jungalicious then took to the main stage and performed some fabulous show dances for the crowds.

Keeping children and teenagers active this summer

Over the summer holidays, World Jungle's creative team will be busy running holiday activity programmes for children and young people to enjoy at venues across the Cotswolds including Cirencester, South Cerney, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water and Northleach.

There will be a mix of workshops for children, fun drop-in sessions including art & craft, sport & games and circus fun, together with free family fun day events with lots of activities for all ages to enjoy.  We will also be hosting a number of events and activities aimed at older children and teenagers including Skate Festivals and youth events - all free and open access.  Please see our website for details.

We are pleased also to be working in partnership with the Arkell Centre and Nailsworth Town Council to put on a series of free sessions for children and families here too - including African Drumming, Circus Fun, Cooking and Arts & Crafts sessions.  More details can be found on our website.
