New Blog Post! And a fun video clip to brighten your Monday :)

After class last week a student asked me a question, and I was so glad to have the answer that I wrote a blog post about it.

You can read it here:
Why do we use Ujjayi breath?

One of the best things about my job as a yoga teacher is getting to talk about yoga. Sure, helping students feel relaxed and breathe easily and get rid of pain is great, too. But I could go on and on about how yoga works.

I love it when students are curious enough to ask why. It shows they are engaging with the practice, not just passively enduring it because they hope it will get them from point A to point B.

When students ask me questions, I get to share some of my delight in how this moving, breathing and being attentive stuff works to change us.

It's so fun to pull back the curtain and take a look around. It's like learning how a magic trick works. But I'd be a terrible magician, because I would show anyone who asked!

Please send your questions about yoga! If you are curious about some part of the practice, please ask a question either via email or at your next class. Chances are, someone else is wondering too.

Plus, having a question to answer gives me ideas for the blog--who knows, maybe your question will be posted next!

xx
