Beyond the Wild: Maya Clouse

Maya Clouse skated for the 14U Washington Wild last season. Shortly before the end of school, Maya Clouse participated in Eckstein Middle School's annual science fair. She submitted an engineering project to design and demonstrate a bicycled-powered electricity generator capable of charging a cell phone and running a number of small appliances. Her project was chosen as a finalist to represent Eckstein in the city-wide science fair held at the Boeing Museum of Flight.

After presenting her project to the panel of judges, she received the award for Most Practical Engineering project across all 6th grade entries from the school district. Her family excitedly awaits the next power failure so that they can plug the fish tank pumps, cell phones, and refrigerator into the Bike Charge and take turns powering the house! Congratulations to Maya!

This article compiles a few videos to help players on the ice. Some require roller blades, while others can be performed in the living room.
