Pre season training is now in full swing and attendance levels have been very good. it's been great to see U17's, U18's and Colts  joining in with the sessions and have been putting the senior guys through their paces. Last season was extremely successful and with the talent pushing through the junior ranks the future looks extremely bright.
In case you've missed it so far, training is at Henham on Tuesday and Thursdays from 7.00pm onwards. Food and drink will now be available post training for a small modest charge.
 

New Addition to Coaching Team
The club are pleased to announce the appointment of Solo Baleisolomone and Steve McCabe to the senior coaching team. Many of you will already know Steve who has worked through the junior ranks of the club but Solo has been working at Red Wings Carver Barracks over recent years. For full story click here

London 2NE Champions
SWRFC were formally awarded the London NE 2 Champions trophy at the recent Eastern Counties RFU annual dinner. Unfortunately the guest speaker Jason Leonard did not show up, but a small representation from SWRFC were there to collect the trophy - led by Vice Captain Paul Marshall. Annual General Meeting
This is the first calling notice of the club  AGM takes place on Thursday 1st September at Henham from 7.00pm. Please come along and have your say on the running of the club


Club Development Evening
We will be sharing our vision of the club's future and announcing the launch of project 'Moving Forward' our immediate focus on the continued improvement of the Springate site. This takes place on Thursday 8th September from 6.00pm to 8.00pm, drinks and nibbles will be provided

 
Saracens Summer Camp
A reminder that the club will be holding a 5 day Saracens Summer Camp at Henham from Monday 22nd August to Friday 26th. A 15% discount is being offered to those that book online, for more details click here


Accomodation Available?
To help us bolster the playing strength of the club, we have identified a couple of overseas players who are looking to play at Saffron Walden RFC next season.

Clubhouse Manager Required
We are looking for a volunteer to help manage the clubhouse at Henham. Duties would include ensuring repair and maintenance work is carried out and also giving access to the clubhouse for tradesmens and deliveries. If you are able to help then please get in contact by clicking here


England Autumn Internationals
If you would like to apply for tickets for Englands autumn internationals vs South Africa or Australia then please contact Martin Curtis no later than the end of July. Tickets for the Fiji and Argentina games are available via Ticketmaster.


Coaching Courses
As we look forward to the next season our youth coaches have been on a couple of training courses which have been very well received. 8 coaches covered the Defence course and a further 6 covered the ruck and maul course, run by Gareth Evans who has been Army rugby coach for the last 4 years. We are in discussion about further courses, with the possibilty of further coaches at Henham
