2016 Bay Harbor Foundation Series
We hope you enjoyed your Fourth of July in Northern Michigan. We attended the celebration at Bay Harbor and thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks, as did everyone else around us. The beautiful image below, of Bay Harbor drenched in light from the fireworks, is one of only three special images captured by Joe during the fireworks display for the purpose of raising funds in support of the Bay Harbor Foundation. There are only three signed and numbered copies of each of three images taken during the display. Our purpose in selling them is to raise $2,025 in support of the Foundation's excellent work in the community. For more information click here.

Joe's Corner
Tips and tricks
"Don't look too hard. Sometimes the best images are only an arm's length away. Our specialty here at Glass Lakes Photography, is Capturing Your Familiar World in a New Way, and to do that you must examine and reexamine your surroundings. The hard part of photography is finding a unique perspective within the world you have come to know only too well. You must purposefully, mechanically maneuver yourself to see the world differently. Get underneath, to the side of, behind, on top of, look at the subject in a new way. It pays to visit a spot at different times on the same day. Lighting is an important component of any composition, and it changes with every hour of the day. The shot below was taken last night as we visitied a roadside park near Nine Mile Point in Charlevoix. The setting sun helped the texture of the trees and leaves pop."
