The Weekly Catch
We hope everyone is having a stellar summer! If any of you were wondering what our excuse is for not answering the phone or responding quickly to emails, "Summer Fishing in the Rockies". We've shared some photos below.
On the business side of things, sales remain brisk and the quality of incoming inventory remains amazing! Some examples currently for sale are showcased below.
To our newsletter subscribers only, today we hereby announce that a SUMMER SALE page has just gone live on our website. Please check out these great deals and act fast before someone beats you to them! There is no set end date to this sale. It could be 7 days or it could be 45 days, depending upon the success of the campaign.
In separate news, due to the growth of our business we have recently brought Matt M. on board to help with the business. We found Matt one day in Mike Clark's shop in Lyons and have since witnessed his growing passion and knowledge of classic fishing tackle. He's also a very accomplished fisherman and we are elated to have him helping us. He has also developed a habit of buying rods and reels from inventory, so that also bolsters our growing affection for our new employee ;-)
Matt and a nice brookie with his Phillipson Pacemaker

This week's featured item here at Vintage Fly Tackle is a super scarce Bogdan trout reel. Stan made very few of the all black trout reels with the optional palming rim. This one remains in excellent plus condition and includes a copy of the original bill of sale from 1977 when Stan first produced reels with this exposed control rim. The original owner I received the reel from paid $165 for the reel back then. You can find more details by clicking on the photo below or visiting this link. Here's a helpful hint.....it will cost more now.
For those of you desiring to thin out your classic tackle collection, there's no better time nor place to consign your items than to us here at Vintage Fly Tackle. Please find more information on the consignment process here. And you can find some of our customer testimonials here. Many references are available upon request.
Here are the links to our entire inventory of fine fishing tackle. Within each category, you can sort by date listed, price, or alphabetically.
As always, thanks very much for your continued support of Vintage Fly Tackle!
