Food Security for America is an Atlanta-based ministry which feeds low-income people physically, relationally and spiritually. Our world can be very isolating and stressful, especially if you are struggling with choices such as buying enough food to feed your family or paying utilities. While we may be able to share our challenges with family and friends, these relationships are hard to establish and support in a low-income community. Learn about how Food Security for America is making progress in low-income communities here.

What is a FANN?
A Friends and Family Network ("FANN") is how Food Security of America's mission is implemented. Food Security for America purchases low cost food from the Atlanta Community Food Bank, and fresh produce from the farmers market. We then deliver it to Friends and Neighbors Network meetings. Members pay a small administrative fee to participate. They collect the fee, set up the meeting room, unload and distribute the food, and lead their meeting. Meetings typically include a devotional, community announcements and plans for upcoming meetings. Relationships and shared resources prosper where people use their talents, gain confidence and learn leadership skills.. Learn how FANNs operate.

Food Security for America holds Brunch and Leadership Training for Area Steering Committees. Dr. Beverley Demetruis, an Associate Professor of Nutrition at Life University, and FSA board member, used Christ as the model of the ideal leader in discussing critical leadership traits.
