Heavenly Father,

We thank You for blessing us with the Benilde-St. Margaret's School community: the administration, faculty, staff and families. Thank You for bestowing upon our children so many talents, which they are able to share in a caring and accepting school environment. Help us to always work together for the common goal of preparing our children for life: college, adulthood, and ultimately, eternal life with You. May we support each other and emulate the African saying "it takes a village to raise a child." And may we always show our appreciation to You through our prayers and actions.

Amen

The “Parent Questionnaire” is due Friday, September 9. Please read the emails carefully for instructions and other important information. If you have any questions, contact your student’s counselor
  • The College Planning Meeting for parents of seniors is Wednesday, August 31, 7 p.m. in BSM’s Hamburge Theater. The counselors will present pertinent information about the college application process and the BSM student, parent and counselor roles and responsibilities. There will be time for questions at the end of the session.
  • All seniors are required to attend a group meeting with BSM’s counselors during their BSM hour Thursday, September 1. Students will learn about BSM’s college application procedures and deadlines, information about college representatives visiting the college and career center, the letter of recommendation process, college visits and applying for scholarships and/or the NCAA. In addition, all seniors are required to set up at least one 20-minute individual meeting with their counselor. These meetings need to take place by the end of September. Students will be able to schedule these meetings once school begins.
Parents of Juniors
  • Look for a letter from the counselors with a multitude of information to help you prepare for your student’s junior year. One topic is the upcoming PSAT/NMSQT test which will be administered to all BSM juniors 8 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, as well as test preparation options for the PSAT, SAT and ACT. We will also include a college planning checklist for juniors.
  • All juniors are required to attend a meeting with BSM’s counselors 8 a.m. Thursday, September 8. Please note, this is a late start school day for all other students, but juniors are required to be at BSM by 8 a.m. for the meeting.
