Coaches Helping Coaches

Funded Grassroots Mentorship/Recruitment Program

Help us spread the word to your experienced coaches and support the recruitment of new coaches into your sport with $500!

How it works:
A coach that is active and trained in the NCCP nominates a new coach to be mentored for one year. The new coach must be 16 years or older and have not already taken NCCP training. The experienced coach takes on the responsibility of mentoring the new coach.

Recent changes beyond OSSA's control have come to the attention of the Technical Committee:

Toronto Regional meet has been cancelled due to changes at the facility.
The date of the Shea Sprints Olympic Style Competition in Lake Placid as identified in LT Technical bulletin has changed and does not support the scenario needed for the Provincial LT Championships.

Any updates to Bulletins will be posted when they become available.

Speed Skating Canada eNews highlights

The second edition of the SSC eNews was released yesterday. In case you missed it we wanted to note a couple of highlights:

Several Ontario Officials were assigned to International and National events for the 2015-16 season! Congratulations to Sandra Chenard, Darrell Haack, Richard Hunt, Rocky Lamontagne, Robin Newton-Smith, Jacky Shoebridge, and David Stewart.
Ben Donnelly set a new Canadian Junior Record in the 3000m.
Ernie Overland was honoured with the Andy Higgins Lifetime achievement award from the Coaches Association of Ontario.
