October at RCFA

Warhol returns to Birmingham

Andy Warhol's 'Liz Taylor' is one of his best-known images, and RCFA is delighted to present this magnificent silkscreen print later this month as part of our 'Works on Paper' exhibition.

This summer, there has been quite a focus upon Warhol in Birmingham with the major exhibition 'Love is Enough' at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery which brought together the work of Warhol and William Morris.  At RCFA we have now sold several Warhol screenprints, and we are looking forward to hosting 'Liz' shortly.  We will send out a further newsletter when she arrives.

Reuben Colley's 'My Birmingham'

Reuben Colley's striking painting 'NRG', which is currently on display at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, has now been sold!  To see it, and Colley's 'Brindley Light', call into the Museum's 'Change in the Inner City' exhibition in Gallery 13.

'NRG' is part of Reuben Colley's 'My Birmingham' collection, which was completed in 2012.  These paintings explore the spaces which formed the backdrop to Colley's early life in Birmingham. Most of the originals are now in private collections, but a few (shown below) are still available.

For every 'My Birmingham' painting sold, we will make a donation to Birmingham Museums Trust's collections acquisitions fund.  This fund helps the Museums Trust to develop Birmingham's public collections for future generations.
