Hidden Photo Treasures by Bulldog Tours revealed Oct. 5 at 7pm.

By Douglas Carr Cunningham -  Bulldog Tours, Stan Foxworthy and Douglas Carr Cunningham team up for the benefit of local photographers, to reveal unknown photo treasures October 5th.  Gather the secrets by coming to The Olde Community Building, 4820 Jenkins Avenue, North Charleston, at 7pm. It is free. Tips for great photography are included in the presentation.
The most beautiful city in the world, with the most beautiful streets, is Charleston, according to many.  Photographers attempt to take advantage of this heritage beauty all the time.  Professional and amateur photographers are always looking, of course.
Enter John LaVerne of Bulldog Tours.  LaVerne’s company is well known for conducting Haunted Jail and Ghost Walking tours, Haunted Pub Crawl, and the Dark Side of Charleston tours.
Founded by Citadel grad LaVerne in 2001, LaVerne’s company has raised over $2.6 million for The Old Exchange, Old City Jail, Charleston’s oldest graveyard, and various historical landmarks.  LaVerne, himself, is an avid photo-enthusiast, and a strong promoter of the arts, but he describes himself as head tour guide, bean counter, janitor, and maintenance guy – his talk will reflect that mix of talent.
In addition to the hidden photo treasuress, LaVerne will include commentary about the architectural elements of Charleston’s historical buildings, and the top five historical buildings and homes in Charleston. The information is meant to give photographers a leg up on walking and driving expeditions throughout the city with cameras in tow.
Sponsored by Think Tank Photo camera luggage, North Charleston Cultural Arts and CunningFox Photo Education, LaVerne’s talk is free to the public, at The Olde Community Building, 4820 Jenkins Avenue, North Charleston, at 7pm.
