Upcoming Workshops:
Please join Circle for two special workshops with guest artist Megan Stern of Philadelphia!
Friday, October 23rd
6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Embodying Curiosity: Improvisation and Choreography – In this improvisation and choreography workshop, we will cultivate awareness and presence that allows us to dance fully and honestly. Surprising and idiosyncratic movement will be sourced from internal sensation, external stimulus, and the complex landscape of our human selves. We will explore solo and group scores and will also learn some choreographic tools for manipulating and further developing movement discovered through improvisation.
Saturday, October 24th
10 a.m. – noon
Technique – In this class, Megan will give a taste of some of the movement principles and techniques she is exploring and how they relate to her choreography. Megan’s work incorporates a broad range of influences including contact improvisation, release technique, Aikido, and Feldenkrais. Finding efficiency and releasing tension will be a main focus. Class will include a juicy warm-up, floor work, and some athletic and sweeping phrases.
$15 for each class or $25 for both
