Beaumont Blast 10/4/15

EASY WAYS TO DONATE TO BEAUMONT
Thank you for the generous ways you support Beaumont by participating in school events and volunteering your time. We appreciate all that you do and the money raised by the HSA goes directly back to teachers, staff and students.

Proud to be the Beaumont Bears Campaign - make a direct donation to BES by filling out a Donation Form.

Shop at Target using your Target REDcard - designate Beaumont Elementary to receive 1% of purchases donated to our school. So far, BES has generously received $8000 over the years from Target.

Box Tops for Education - clip your box tops worth 10 cents each from your cereal, Kleenex, or Ziploc boxes, etc., which will be donated directly to BES. For more details, view: Ways to Support Beaumont Flyer.
ERB TESTING FOR GRADES 2 - 4
Students in Grades 2, 3 and 4 will participate in the Comprehensive Testing Program published by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB), as part of T/E's assessment program. Testing is scheduled for October 6 - 8 for Grades 2 and 3, and October 6 - 9 for Grade 4. Make-ups will be given the week of October 12. It is important to be on time to school on test days.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS START OCTOBER 5
The After School Clubs, sponsored by the HSA, will begin this week (from October 5 through December 11). They take place from 3:30 - 4:30pm after school and pick up is at the Carpool Circle (unless given another location). Note: the teachers and school have a master list of all the students participating so parents do not need to write a note for their children to attend an After School Club. Do not forget to pack an extra snack.

WALKING CLUB DURING RECESS STARTS OCTOBER 6
The Walking Club starts on October 6 and takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 6 weeks during recess. Students who choose to participate can earn prizes. Each child will get 1 card punch per lap walked around the playground area. The more punches on the card, the faster it is to win a prize. Come help promote health and fitness by volunteering to oversee the club. This is a great way to see your child at school and get some exercise.
Please sign up on Volunteer Spot for:
Shift 1: 11:20am - 12:30pm for Grades 1 - 2
Shift 2: 12:30 - 1:30pm for Grades 3 - 4

PARENT SOCIAL - NOVEMBER 14
Invitations for the Parent Social on Saturday, November 14, from 7:00 - 11:00pm, at Hilltop House (across from Beaumont), will be sent this week. This is Beaumont’s largest fundraiser and a wonderful place to get to know Beaumont parents, teachers and staff in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. The evening features an open bar, delicious food and a silent auction. We would appreciate any Silent Auction Donations, including tickets to local sporting events or concerts, a weekend at your beach or mountain house, theme baskets, gift certificates to local restaurants or stores, etc. If you would like to donate a Silent Auction item, please contact Peggy Myers, peggyusc@gmail.com. Back by popular demand is the Wine Raffle. The committee has been busy collecting wine bottle donations, so if you would like to donate a wine bottle (or two),
please contact Marianne Marquet, marimarquet@verizon.net or Tory Stagnaro, torystagnaro@gmail.com. In the past, money raised from the event has been allocated to purchase iPads for classrooms and new playground equipment.
