Alderman Greg Mitchell, in partnership with The South Chicago Community Service Center and Midway Moving & Storage, is hosting a Shred-A-Thon. The event offers free paper shredding services to 7th Ward residents. Bring your old bills, mail, and sensitive documents and watch them get shredded on site! Join us at 8650 S. Commercial Avenue from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
7th Ward Property Fitness & Tax Assessment Appeal Forum

Join the staff from Cook County Board of Review who will be on hand to assist homeowners with questions and to file an appeal on your property tax assessments. Homeowners in the 7th Ward can appeal their property tax assessments to ensure they are fair and accurate. The forum will take place at Robert A. Black Magnet School located at 7133 S. Coles Ave, Chicago, IL 60649. The event will be held from 6:00PM - 8:00 PM.
Soul Coast 5K Run/Walk

This year, the South Shore Chamber, Inc (SSCI) is hosting a Soul Coast 5k Run/Walk, certified by the Chicago Area Runners Association. The race will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Rainbow Beach (2873 E 75th Street, Chicago, IL 60649). Costumes are optional. Entry Cost $30 ($40 with Timechip). Amnesty Week at the Clerk of the Circuit Court
Clerk of the Circuit Court Dorothy Brown to hold Amnesty Week, Monday, October 5th 2015 through Friday, October 9th 2015.
