1st African Veterinary Para-Professional Conference

GALVmed, in partnership with OIE and the Africa Veterinary Technicians Association will hold the first African veterinary para-professional conference scheduled to take place in October 13-15th in Pretoria, South Africa.

The conference will bring together representatives of national associations or VPPs, veterinary authorities and veterinary statutory bodies from 22 African countries to strengthen the links and collaboration between veterinarians and veterinary para-professionals.

GALVmed supports World Rabies Day - 28th Sept

GALVmed stood with the Global Alliance for Rabies Control on World Rabies Day. The theme for this year’s event was Ending Rabies Together with worldwide events to raise awareness and promote prevention activities in at-risk communities. Ending rabies will protect the world’s poorest, veterinarians and other animal health professionals, livestock and companion animals from this 100% preventable disease.

 GALVmed attends Pan-African Dairy Conference

GALVmed recently participated in the 11th African Dairy Conference and Exhibition held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi, Kenya from the September 23rd to 25th 2015. Visitors to our exhibition were educated on the various animal health products we promote while ECF vaccinations were demonstrated by trained vaccinators.

Bringing the benefits of a poultry vaccine to rural Malawi

GALVmed is supporting the NGO, Inter Aide, to increase the use of the I-2 ND vaccine in the Lilongwe, Zomba and Phalombe districts of the central region of Malawi. The partnership will promote the availability of this effective solution against Newcastle disease and will train 100 additional vaccinators, which will generate employment for youths in rural areas. Nearly one million doses of ND vaccine will be administered to about 330,000 chickens every three months.
