HOMECOMING SUNDAY
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4

This Sunday, our church will celebrate over 140 years of Christian service in Birmingham.  We will begin our Homecoming celebration with morning worship  at 10:15 am, which will include a special performance from our new chime choir, along with the dedication of the chimes and new choir robes.  Following worship, we will have a potluck lunch in the Christian Life Center.  This will be a special time of fellowship, renewing friendships, and sharing sweet memories.  Please mark your calendars for this special day of celebration.
Workday at Vincent Elementary School
Saturday, November 7
8 AM to 12:30 PM

Join us on Saturday, November 7 as we partner with parents, teachers, and administrators from Vincent Elementary School to begin landscaping the school courtyard (pictures below). There are several projects for us to work on, including removing some existing plants and shrubs, weeding, possibly removing pea gravel as well as replanting and planning for future projects. Lunch at VES is included and childcare is provided (on the VES playground) if needed.

Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty.  Bring shovels, rakes, and other tools you think might be helpful.

This is a great opportunity to invite a friend!

Come make a difference in the lives of some of God's precious children.  Click here to sign up now for this amazing opportunity to serve our community.

We are also in need of people who are especially handy or skilled in landscaping to serve as work team leaders.  If this sounds like you, click here to email Troy Tatum to volunteer to lead a work team.

HOW CAN YOU HELP? GLAD YOU ASKED...
It's that time of year again, School, football, and Sunday nights at church! Our students are excited about the opportunity to spend time together and grow in their faith as they learn to follow Jesus more completely. And we all know it just wouldn't be the same without food, right? We would appreciate it if you would consider signing up for a meal one week. We are using sign-up genius to help track each week and we think it will make everything simpler. All you have to do is click the link below for a list of available dates, choose one that works for you and sign up. You're welcome to team up with others, just choose a point person to sign up. Please remember, if you would like to be reimbursed, save your receipts and give them to Donnette Mee or Robin and we'll make sure you get a check. Also, you can apply those receipts to your giving statement if you'd like to make it a tax deduction.

Check out our schedule and sign up today!

Information on how much to prepare is on the sign up page, but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
We have a few spaces left to fill if you happen to know of a neighbor or friend who is looking for a MDO/preschool program for their child...I would love to hear from them.  TAN office: 991-9952 ask for Debbie!
Update on the WellHouse

The luncheon and presentation from Ashley Alexander about human trafficking and The WellHouse was a special event.  Many attended and enjoyed the lunch. The presentation was very informative and, although rather disturbing to learn details, it made us more aware of this problem and how we can help.  Donations of almost $400.00 were collected for the ministry of The WellHouse.  We have ladies form FCC volunteering with this mission.

Brochures about The WellHouse and its service and mission are available in the Narthex. Please keep this mission in your prayers and help spread the word.

Thank you to all who participated and to Ona Ruth ladies for hosting the event.
