Everybody Welcome in action:
an eyewitness report from Debbie Cougler

This past Sunday I watched our welcoming in action as I sat behind a new family that was visiting our church. At the end of the service more than one of our parishioners greeted them. At this point the greeters were actually other parishioners who brought the family down to coffee hour and put them in the hands of an Everybody Welcome Committee member. The committee person started doing introductions, filling out visitor card information and finding out other needs of the family, who are interested in getting their children enrolled in Church School. I tell you this story to illustrate just how easy it is to greet the stranger among us and make them a stranger no more!  Won’t you join the fun and welcome the stranger?

Brighton Food Cupboard update

Thanks to all those who helped get 35+ bags of healthy food donations delivered over to the Brighton Food Cupboard at the Brookside School in Brighton. Job well done!  The BFC no longer has a pickup & delivery person, so we met the challenge of figuring out how to get our pantry-full of food over there in September.

Keep donating staple items such as pasta & sauce, tuna, paper towels, kleenex, soup, cereal, peanut butter, cereal and healthy snacks. Baskets are located at both main entrances.
