Men's Group is Looking for Volunteers!!
Fresh off the Fishing Trip, the Men’s Group is sponsoring two activities in October. So, pick one or both and come join the fun! To sign up, please email jkphilips@verizon.net and indicate which activities you are interested in. 

Columbarium Repairs/Maintenance: Saturday, October 17th 9AM - NOON
Several of Christ Church’s benches in the Columbarium are in need of some TLC. So, bring some rags, putty knives, scrapers and some elbow grease with you to sand/stain the benches back into shape. POWER WASHERS and the guys who know how to use ‘em ESPECIALLY NEEDED! Coffee and doughnuts will be provided. Note to men: this might be the perfect opportunity to impart the wisdom you have gained over the years to your teenage sons, so bring them along.

Harvest Supper Preparation: Saturday October 17th , NOON - 5 PM
Preparing and cooking the brisket. Doing the prep work for the soup and sides.
 
Sunday October 18th, 2 PM - 9 PM 
Help prepare and celebrate the passing of another year with a delicious supper for the parish. Prep work will start at 2 PM. Dinner will be served at 6 and cleanup starts at 8. Please let us know if and when you can help! 
Christ Church Bronxville 20s & 30s Group BEGINS: October 14th 7 PM
The time has come for us to form a fellowship group for parishioners in their 20's and 30's, and we are excited to kick this off next month! Katie Gojkovich and McKenzie Burton are THRILLED to invite parishioners in their 20s and 30s to a get together on October 14th at Ernie's Wine Bar. We are looking forward to chatting with anyone who is interested in building up this ministry at Christ Church. Bring any ideas for outreach, social and worship events! Feel free to bring friends. We can't wait to see you there! Email us with questions or thoughts. 
Adult Mission Trip to Cuba: January 12-19
Christ Church is excited to plan a weeklong mission trip to Cuba for adults this January. We will be working in the town of Itabo for four days laying a cement foundation for dormitories for the local church. We will also spend time cultivating the town’s communal garden. The group will spend a night in the beach town of Varadero and then tour around Havana for two days before returning to New York. We will be flying in and out of JFK on January 12th and 19th. Cost is approximately $3000 depending on the amount of travelers.

A Message from the Bishop of New York about the Syrian refugee crisis
All the world has stood aghast at the plight of refugees from Syria and other countries in the middle east making their way north through Europe.  The stories of suffering and unwelcome, of despair and violence, and of hope in the face of all odds have captivated the attention and awakened the compassion of all people […] donations of money are most welcome, as these people crossing borders, often abused and robbed by smugglers, are increasingly arriving in Central Europe with only the clothes on their backs. We are researching the best avenues for getting donations directly and safely to the places where the need is greatest, and those who would like to join in this effort are encouraged to send monetary donations to the Diocese of New York, either by check marked for refugee relief, or online.
