Uni Project launches DRAW NYC
Dear Friends,

The Uni Project puts learning on an urban stage to improve lives, strengthen communities, and say something about the priorities of New York City. Thanks to your help, so far this year we’ve created 90 pop-up reading rooms across all five boroughs, and there are more to come. Here’s the update:

Since our last email, we’ve served nearly 4000 people in 25 neighborhoods, and we’ve been seen on the street by many thousands more. We’ve launched partnerships with NYC Parks and NYPL that are taking reading further into underserved communities. We're providing a beautiful way for New Yorkers to read together in parks, plazas, play streets, and public spaces.

And now we’re ready to unleash something new. This summer we launched a new DRAW cart which allows people to gather around drawing. With high quality art materials donated by Blick Art Materials and seed funding from Burning Man as well as from Romy and David Cohen, we've opened the next chapter of our work. Our expanding collection of carts—READ, DRAW, and soon, SOLVE—offer a simple, direct way for people to gather around the act of learning in almost any urban location. This is just the beginning.

For the next two Saturdays, the Uni will bring READ and DRAW to a temporary plaza called Plaza33 in midtown Manhattan, right next to Madison Square Garden. Come see us on the street. Here's our full schedule.

Thank you to our terrific staff, volunteers, and donors for making this work possible! You can help us expand by making an early contribution to our year-end drive, and we'll put your name on the donor wall of the Uni as it roams the city.

Thanks for your support. See you on the street.
