SEASON UPDATE
Our team has been extremely busy in September due to the beginning of the OCCRA season, FIRST off-season events, and preparations for the upcoming FIRST season. The AdamBots received the details of the 2015 OCCRA game at OCCRA kickoff on September 14th. This year's game is similar to pool, with robots scoring game balls into goals of the correct color, and scoring extra points at the end of a match by possessing the larger balls (called the 8-ball and cue ball) above the floor. Our OCCRA team has been hard at work designing and building the OCCRA robot based on this game.
Meanwhile, the AdamBots competed in a FIRST off-season event called Kettering Kickoff on September 19th at Kettering University in Flint, Michigan. The AdamBots finished in the semifinals and captained the fifth alliance composed of our sister team, the CyberCats 5436, and the Gems 4362. We are very proud with our accomplishments at Kettering Kickoff, and are looking forward to our next FIRST off-season event, the Bloomfield Hills Girls Competition on November 14th.
Additionally, our team is also engaged in preparations for the upcoming FIRST season. The AdamBots are planning a FIRST boot camp event on Saturday, October 17th as an opportunity for team building before the FIRST season is in full swing. Engineering teams have also begun training
workshops to prepare incoming team members for working with various tools on the robot come January. Overall, the AdamBots have had a very eventful month, and are looking forward to many more OCCRA and FIRST events in the coming months.
