Issue 10 | October 2015

Welcome to the ADEPT newsletter.

In this edition we bring you details of upcoming events including the ADEPT Annual Conference 2015 which will be held next month in Manchester, the LEP Summit in London and the Telegraph Britain's Smart Cities conference, which will feature case studies, best practice and examples of pioneering city development.

You will also find details of a new waste prevention toolkit, developed by environmental consultancy, Eunomia, which allows users to assess the impact and cost of a range of waste prevention initiatives.

To support our media and communications work, we are conducting a very quick survey (just three questions) to find out how easy ADEPT members find it to recruit skilled people for major infrastructure projects.  We would be very grateful if you could spare the time to respond to the survey.

We hope you find this newsletter informative and useful.  If you have any feedback or suggestions for content, please contact Coast Communications

ADEPT Annual Conference 2015

This year's ADEPT conference will be held on 5 and 6 November at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Manchester Airport.

This conference will give ADEPT members, LEP Chief Executives, politicians, partners and stakeholders the opportunity to learn from successful projects that have transformed the places where people live and work.

Delegates will also hear about opportunities to collaborate and share innovative practices and how challenges might be overcome, particularly in the context of devolution proposals spanning the entire country.

Plenary debates will cover waste and resource management, local and national responses to skills development and the key elements of creating successful communities, including affordable housing and connected transport systems.

Details of how to book will follow next week in a special edition of this newsletter.

Last year's conference in Manchester attracted over 160 delegates

Can you spare one minute?

Please complete our three-question survey on skills.

To support ADEPT's media and communications work, we would like your help with a quick survey of just three questions to assess the ease with which our members are able to recruit project managers, engineers, planners and surveyors for major infrastructure projects.

We would be very grateful if you could click this link to complete the survey - answering all three questions should take no more than a minute of your time.
