Inviting All To Serve And Come Alive In Christ

This Sunday we're headed into the final message of the series,
 'Here Comes Trouble'

The trouble we'll be tackling is FEAR

We're looking at Joshua 1:1-9, a huge turning point for God's people & their brand-new, not-nearly-as-good-as-the-last-guy leader Joshua.  Here God gives him counsel & encouragement for the next season in his life, which includes the instruction  'Be strong & courageous' 3 times.  You see, fear paralyzes us & prevents us from laying hold of the promises God has for our lives. Come learn how to meet fear with faith & turn trouble into triumph.

See you on Sunday at 10:00am for worship & teaching
followed by great fellowship & 2nd Hour Growth Groups

4 Practical Ways You Can

Respond to the Refugee Crisis

I want to give something: Many of refugees in Charlotte come from cultures where umbrellas are used in the rain & in the sun. Donations of good umbrellas—new or used—are a huge blessing.  Bring your umbrellas to the Grove & we’ll get them into the hands of our newest refugee neighbors.

I want to buy something: Refugee Support Services is hosting a ‘fresh socks’ drive.  A clean new pair of socks is a small but significant luxury to many in the refugee community.  Bring your new socks to the Grove and we’ll pass them along.

I want to serve: Refugee Support Services offer free English as a Second Language or ESL classes to our refugee neighbors. Trained instructors teach the classes, but volunteers are needed to be conversation partners so students can practice their new skills.  This involves reading prompts off of index cards the teachers provide.  It’s a simple way to welcome & bless a refugee in our community.

I want to do more: Refugee Support Services is located just around the corner from the Grove at the Galilee Center 3601 Central Avenue will be hosting a general volunteer training this Monday night, September 21st at 7:30.  This meeting will help you find out about the other ways Refugee Support Services helps refugees ‘arrive. Survive. Thrive.’
