HOMECOMING OCT. 9, 2015
SAVE THE DATE FOR FUN!
|
|
Each year, Wichita Montessori School joins The Independent School for Homecoming celebration. Following are the events offered to our families:
2:00 PM Pep Assembly (Elementary only)
3:45 PM Parade Down Douglas - All students and teachers walk the parade route, showing our school spirit and cheering for the Panthers in their football game (Douglas Ave. will be closed from 3:00-4:30 PM)
4:30 PM Fun events on the grass field, such as Inflatables, Dunk Tanks, Face Painting, Kona Ice
5:00 PM BBQ supper, sponsored by TIS Booster Club
7:00 PM Football game, TIS vs. Belle Plaine
We urge our families to come for the parade--this is such fun! WMS families gather together and cheer us on as we parade by the school lot. Following the parade, parents collect their children, and either enjoy more Homecoming activities together, or begin your weekend as you wish. NOTE: THERE IS NO AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM OR PANTHER CARE ON HOMECOMING DAY, SO ALL CHILDREN MUST BE COLLECTED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PARADE.
If families do not wish to attend or have their child participate in the parade, arrangements must be made to pick up the child prior to 2:45 PM, as Douglas Ave. will close at 3:00 PM.
Morning primary students are invited to return to school for the parade, if parents wish to have them participate (more information will follow to primary families.)

PARKING LOT WOES AND
RESERVED SPACE
|
|
As the school year has gotten underway, some parents have reported trouble finding a parking space. We have enlisted the help of TIS to reserve the spaces in front of the hand railing, and up to the dismissal overhang, for WMS families to park and escort children into school. We realize that it takes more than 10 -12 spaces to accommodate our youngest students, but we hope that this change will help with arrival.
If your child is responsible enough to walk in unassisted, please use the arrival line, which allows children to disembark in front of the TIS lower school, then walk into school on the sidewalk. There is a teacher stationed daily to assist in keeping the line moving, with the idea being that you pull all the way up, let your child out, and move on. Click here to view Arrival/Dismissal Procedures in depth.
RESERVED: Parents, there is one parking space, close to the exit, that is marked reserved. We have been asked to leave this space open each day, all day. The person whose donation allowed them to reserve the spot comes and goes at various times during the day. Thank you for your help in working together on our campus.
