Monthly Message

Summer is over, the cadets have returned, and classes have started.  That quiet when the school year is over and all the cadets are gone is so nice – for about a week.  Then I miss the energy, the sense of extraordinary purpose, the gestalt of the Corps of Cadets that defines what is so exceptional about The Citadel.  I am so glad they are back!

CSB Cadets Attend the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

The Citadel is the only U.S. military college band to ever be invited to the exclusive Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Edinburgh, Scotland, and returned in July, with the help of supporters.
Faculty and Staff Participate in the Annual Retreat

On August 20, the faculty and staff from the School of Business gathered at the Lowcountry Graduate Center in North Charleston for its annual planning retreat.  Dean Bill Trumbull began the meeting by introducing the new faculty members and giving an overview of the day.

CSB Welcomes New Faculty

The Citadel School of Business is proud to welcome new additions to the faculty.  Joining our full-time faculty is Dr. Benjamin Dean, Dr. Jaye Goosby Smith, and Dr. Tracy Rishel.
Mentor Association Kick-Off

Last month, the Mentor Association held the annual kick-off event at the Riverview Room.  Approximately 40 mentors, and their families, attended the event which offered cocktails and a buffet dinner.

  • Dr. Carl Betterton has been elected President of the APICS Charleston Chapter for the program year 2015-2016. APICS is the premier professional association for supply chain and operations management and the leading provider of research, education and certification programs in that field. In addition to his leadership role within the chapter, Dr. Betterton hopes to build bridges between APICS and local higher educational institutions, including The Citadel. "Both APICS as a professional association and institutions of higher learning like The Citadel have an interest in education that elevates supply chain excellence and innovation" notes Dr. Betterton.
  • On September 6th, Dr. Timothy Keogh flew to Istanbul, Turkey to speak to the International League Against Epilepsy’s physicians leadership group on improving communication skills.
