Photography show at Charleston Public Library Main Branch,
68 Calhoun Street,
Sept. 22-Oct. 22

Charleston: One City, One Soul, is photography to promote inclusion and Unity In Black and White, an exhibit of film photography. Charleston streets are full of people who share more than they know.  Love, sorrow, happiness, and desires; in basic terms, we are all the same people who carry the same feelings.  Unity and inclusion is what we share, not difference.
Douglas Carr Cunningham and Iveta Butler began the 100-photo unity project a year ago – with no idea of what was to come.  They began with light hearts, and positive experience, from the first photograph until the last one taken.  While posing for the photograph, people were asked, “Where you going?  Where are you coming from?  What is your favorite thing?“  Very simple questions, but answers showed that people are looking for the same things in our lives.

Sandy Tecklenburg, of The Meeting Street Gallery, scheduled the exhibit the very week of the Emanuel Nine tragedy.  The Unity In Black and White exhibit was displayed at the very time it needed to be seen.
Through photographs and testimonials, Cunningham and Butler discovered we are the same people, despite facades of culture, class status, religion, gender, age, wealth, and political views.  We all want the same things.  We are not so different.  We have much in common.  We share the city.  We share the Lowcountry.  If we individually reject being different, we will more likely be unified with others.

Our friends at Think Tank Photo always seem to meet the needs of working amateurs and professionals. My new laptop bag is the "My 2nd Brain," which comes in appropriate laptop sizes. Mine is 13-inch. I have a specific pocket for all my Mac-specific stuff, and I don't expect Think Tank Photo bags to fall apart, either. I also paid a low price! Don’t forget, when you use my link (here) you get free gear with your order, and free shipping! That is what I did.
