Lesson 859: How Should I Give? Pt.4
2 Cor.9:6-7 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Matt.6:21 Jesus said, “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”.
Contributions are only the 1st step in giving. God’s blessings and rewards will follow.
Prov.19:17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.
Similar to a farmer planting crops: the more you plant, the more bountiful your harvest.
When you plant a seed in the ground, it appears to be thrown away and gone for good.
John 12:24 Jesus said “unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”
God’s harvest law says that we reap what we sow. I harvest if I sow, what I sow, more than I sow, when it has grown.
Gal.6:9-10 let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
