Lesson 855: Why Give? Pt.11
2 Cor.8:24 Therefore show these men the proof of your love and the reason for our pride in you, so that the churches can see it.
Consistent giving provides an example for others. It proves that the love of Christ is genuine.
We depend on God, and God often uses our Christian friends as His instruments to meet needs.
The church at Corinth was Paul’s problem child; their relationship was often strained.
But in the end, Paul reconciled with the church and had confidence in them.
Someday when time runs out, the very last believer will come into the flock of Christ.
Once His work of redemption is complete, Christ will remain human for eternity.
He would have every right to become Spirit again, as He was before the first Christmas.
But Christ will choose to remain a man to be with his bride forever. 1 Cor.15:21-28
Christ’s sacrifice was the greatest gift in history. He will prove His love for us eternally.
Heb.13:5 = Deut.31:6 KJV - I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
