Saints Abadir (Apater) and Eraee (Herai), His Sister

Sts. Abadir (Apater) and Eraee (Herai), his sister, the children of Wasilides, the minister of Antioch, were martyred. Abadir was appointed Esfeh-selar (a high ranking governmental position) in his father's position. He had a room wherein he prayed and the Lord Christ appeared to him in the middle of the night and told him: "Rise up and take your sister Eraee, and go to Egypt to receive the crown of martyrdom and I will instruct a man whose name is Samuel to take care of your bodies and prepare them for burial.

Meditation from Cradle Mountain Chateau, Tasmania: What’s going on?

The small picture is that I am sitting here in front of the log fire in one of the libraries at Cradle Mountain Chateau looking out over the rain-swept forest and the fold after fold of ranges, thinking shall I just stay here and write or is it best to coax Lizzie from her book and go for another walk?
Slightly bigger looms the question of accommodation for tomorrow night but who cares just so long as there is a warm bed.
Another level of complexity is the medical practice work and arranging meetings prior to the federal election when I will be running against the most vocal pro-cloning MP in Australia.  Impossible is the word that comes to mind – no hope of winning of course but the idea is to wake people up – I am glad that God is in charge of the agenda.
But then there is the bigger picture of the threats to our world posed by the threats to sustainable environment and the threats of human conflict including unchecked and indiscriminate civilian destruction by those who hate enough and are prepared to destroy themselves in the process – how can this possibly be checked without also killing those who are innocent?  Is there an answer?
Yet there is another level of complexity and that is our self-destruction as CSLewis wrote in 1943 The Abolition of Man with the abandonment of moral law and decay of values into relativity and rejection of absolutes.
But we are not finished – there is the battle being played out at a higher level still between principalities and powers that are unseen; between the Princes of this world and the Angels.  And we have a role to play in this battle also.
Yes, we have a responsibility to do the normal things we do to maintain the day-to-day structure of life and society – things that should not be ignored.  Nor should we dwell unnecessarily on the danger that lurks nor should we cause undue fear particularly amongst those that tend to be fearful of the future anyway.
CSLewis also wrote about the responsibility of students back in England to engage in their study while others were fighting at the front.
But we are not talking now about some battle ‘over there’ – the battle is here in our society, at our doorstep.  It is in our schools and universities and parliaments; it is in our TV room.  It is being waged by our media and by university professors and by civil libertarians.  Christian values are under attack and if we protest then we are told “religious people have no right to push their values down other people’s necks”.
We cannot be neutral in such things.  We must hold to a view and at the very least be prepared to defend it when under attack.
And God’s people are asleep or do not realise the enormity of what is at stake.  What’s worse they may be unwittingly supporting the enemy.  Do they understand the pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia, pro-alternative sexuality agendas and pro-single-sex family agendas being taught in our schools – and being threatened in our Christian schools – and that such have found their way into political partypolicy?
War is on our doorstep and we are asleep.  What will you do O Christian?  Will you be a watchman?  Will you warn your neighbour about the approaching calamity or will you just build your ark yet refuse to say why?  Bonhoeffer, when referring to the silent church in Germany, warned of people shrinking into their sanctuaries of private virtuousness.
And if not now, when will you warn?
Shepherds of the flock, you who ought to understand the signs of the times – when will you tell your people about these things, many of whom just have no idea of the approaching calamity?

First Australian Bishop to be referred to an Anti-Discrimination Commission for teaching Christian Marriage. Is this the beginning of persecution?

Supporters of man woman marriage have been accused of fear mongering or as Senator Penny Wong has said, '...desperately holding onto the slippery slope argument.' Now, however, it is the real thing!
The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Hobart, Julian Porteous, is now the subject of an official complaint to the Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Commission.
He will now undergo a mandatory process to answer the allegation made against him. He could end up in court. If found guilty, he could be fined. His alleged crime? He promoted Christian teaching on marriage to the parents who enrolled their children in Tasmania’s Catholic schools. Therefore, he is merely upholding the current legal definition of marriage in Australia. Imagine what could happen if same sex 'marriage' is legislated?

Persecution and the  courage of Julian  Porteous

I wish it were not so, but this is a day we knew would come.

An Australian Christian leader has been reported to the government for speaking up for marriage between one man and one woman. If same-sex marriage is legislated, he won’t be the last.

BREAKING: World Leader Drops MAJOR Bombshell… Accuses Obama Of TREASON Live At The United Nations

A bombshell claim by Argentina’s President Christina Fernandez de Kirchener should have the Obama administration in deep trouble. The Argentina President has revealed that her nation had been approached by an Obama administration official and attempted to convince Argentina to “provide the Islamic Republic of Iran with nuclear fuel.”
Kirchner revealed that Gary Samore, a former White House Coordinator for Arms Control and Weapons of Mass Destruction, visited Argentina and tried to persuade the nation to provide Iran with nuclear fuel back in 2010.
Kirchener said that Argentina requested this request in writing, as  that is protocol, and said she never heard from Samore again.
Samore admits to travelling to Argentina in 2010 but he is downplaying the importance of Obama’s attempt to get nuclear fuel for Iran.
Conservative Tribune adds:
In fact, Samore went on to explain how after Argentina balked at the deal, he subsequently approached France and Russia with a similar proposal in which Iran would send their low-enriched uranium to Russia, which would further enrich it before sending it along to France.
France would in turn finish converting the enriched uranium into nuclear reactor fuel, sending it back to Iran for its own use, ostensibly preventing the Islamic republic from weaponizing its uranium stockpiles.
This deal fell through as well, according to Samore, leading to the 2010 U.N. resolution that increased economic sanctions on Iran, ultimately bringing them to the bargaining table for the horrible deal Obama eventually worked out with them this year.
The White House has not responded to the potentially treasonous allegations.
Share this on Facebook and Twitter and help us spread this incredible accusation by the Argentine President that the Obama administration wanted to provide enriched nuclear reactor fuel to the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2010.

Lower Saxony’s Economics Minister expected in Teheran (October 2nd):
Lies should champion the release of political prisoners in Iran

Lower Saxony’s Economics Minister Olaf Lies (SPD) should champion the release of political prisoners in Iran, as urgently requested by the Society for Threatened Peoples (STP) in Göttingen on Thursday. The human rights organization appealed to Lies to use every available opportunity, even as an economic politician, to get involved with the plight of the Bahá’i, imprisoned on grounds of their religion, and other political prisoners such as the non-violent Kurdish human rights activist Mohammad Sadiy Kabudvand. ‘These political prisoners must endure unspeakable things in Iranian prisons. Please help them to regain their freedom!’ the STP appealed. On Friday, Lies is expected in Teheran as the head of a large economic delegation from Lower Saxony.

The seven members of the former informal leadership committee of the Iranian Baha’i faith group, Ms Mahvash Sabet, Ms Fariba Kamalabadi, Mr Jamaloddin Khanjani, Mr Afif Naeimi, Mr Saeid Rezaie, Mr Behrouz Tavakkoli and Mr Vahid Tizfahm have been held since May 14th 2008. The two women and five men were sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment solely because of their religious beliefs. The roughly 300,000 Bahá’í make up the largest non-Islamic minority in Iran, but have practically no rights. Their religion has its roots in Iran and is an independent revelation religion with around seven million members worldwide.

In their appeal, the STP reminds Lies that the situation of these oppressed and discriminated minorities has not improved since the Iranian President, Hassan Rohani, took office two years ago. Now it is time for Rohani to follow up on his election promises and make a
statement: political prisoners must be released immediately!

In the multi-ethnic state of Iran, the Azeris, Kurds, Arabs, Baluchis, Turkmens, Assyrians and other smaller ethnic minorities are not recognized as independent peoples with their own languages and cultures.
They all suffer under oppression and discrimination. Groups and individuals with beliefs that differ from the state religion, such as Bahá’í, Sufi dervishes, Sunnis and New Christians, are repeatedly and arbitrarily accused of being spies for foreign powers and declared enemies of the state, a crime punishable by death under Iranian law.
‘The courts are not expected to make an independent judgement,’ stated the STP. ‘But international attention can prevent more aggressive action against these groups.’

RESOLUTION of 47th Annual General Meeting of the Society for Threatened Peoples (STP) - No support for ISIS and other Islamist terrorist organizations

The Society for Threatened Peoples (STP) calls upon the federal government to try and persuade the UN to block the borders to IS-territories and to other regions controlled by Islamist terrorist organizations in Syria and Iraq:

1) No financial transactions nor military equipment should be able to pass borders. This demand aims to cut off the terrorist organizations from financial resources to impede their warfare and – if possible – to destabilize their reign of terror. In particular, there must be measures to stop the smuggling of oil and antiques from IS-areas. In order not to worsen the situation of the civilian population, there can be blockade-exemptions for selected foodstuffs and medicine.

2) Nobody should be able to cross the borders any more – except refugees. The aim is to prevent an influx of foreign radical Islamists and IS-reinforcements for Syria and Iraq and to keep Islamist terrorists away from Europe and other regions. Another goal is to put an end to the slave trade (which primarily affects children and women) with countries such as Saudi Arabia. Our demand is especially relevant concerning the border between Turkey and the areas controlled by Islamist extremists. We call upon the Federal Government to put pressure on the Turkish government to stop supporting radical Islamist groups in Syria and Iraq and to terminate the trade-relations with them. Further, the borders between Turkey and the regions controlled by such groups must be closed. These measures must be monitored by the international community, led by the UN.

3) At the same time, we urge the German Federal Government to agree on measures to ensure that the borders between Turkey and all Kurdish enclaves on Syrian territory (Afrin, Kobani and Qamishli) will be kept open permanently. These enclaves provide shelter for countless people who, under the reign of terror by the IS, are threatened with enslavement, torture and/or death due to their religious affiliation. This concerns ethnic minorities such as Assyrian-Aramaic Christians, Yezidis, Armenians and Turkmens.

4) We call upon the Federal Government to put more pressure on Turkey to re-enter the peace process with the PKK and other Kurdish organizations immediately – and to stop the attacks against PKK-positions and civilian targets in the Kurdish areas of Syria and Iraq as well as in Turkey itself. It was Erdogan who dropped out of the peace process because of his power politics. Anyone who refers to the PKK as a terrorist organization should also see attacks against Kurdish civilians and the assaults of Turkish nationalists and AKP supporters against Kurdish people, HDP offices and Kurdish businesses as terrorist attacks – and the responsible Turkish institutions as terrorist organizations.

5) We support the political considerations about providing Turkey with additional financial resources to help the refugees and about introducing a visa-free regime for Turkish citizens. In return, the European governments should demand that the Turkish government will agree to the points 1) to 4) listed above. It is absolutely necessary to gain comprehensive control of the financial transactions.

Adopted during the 47th Annual General Meeting of the STP in Göttingen on September 27, 2015.

The app contains handy tools to help tenants plan and monitor their obligations throughout their tenancy. The reminder service can help tenants keep track of rent payment deadlines, routine inspections and proper notice periods.
Tenants can use iRentWA to easily calculate the maximum amount they might have to pay a landlord before moving in and to save photos of mandatory property condition reports, rental receipts and items that need maintenance or repair. Its reminders can help tenants to keep track of rent payment deadlines, routine inspections and proper notice periods.

It can help to minimize disputes when both parties are aware of their rights and obligations. The iRentWA app is now available for free on the App Store and Google Play.
