Holiness, Godliness, Usefulness

Lesson 834: Kindness, Pt.7
The world has become very impersonal, and desperately needs kindness. The unemployment rate approaches 10%. Many people are hungry.
There is a widespread lack of courtesy, and it is risky to be trusting and vulnerable.
Many people have become hardened, so that even Christians are afraid to display kindness.
Churches receive frequent pleas for help; God calls His people to be kind.
Somehow we must live in our culture without losing the quality of kindness.
Kindness is part of the fruit of the Spirit, which God has promised to produce in every believer. Our neighbors urgently need it.
Gal.5:22 The fruit of the Spirit is… kindness, goodness
Acts 9:36 Dorcas… was full of good works and acts of charity.
Our society is violent. People are hurting. God expects us to shine the light of Christ (kindness, joy and love) into the darkness around us.
We live in a sinful world, but that is no excuse.
That’s the reason God placed us where we live, so that we could show the difference Christ makes.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
