Lesson 837: Goodness, Pt.2
Pastor David Jeremiah points out that each of us influences people around us, even when we don't realize it. We impact their lives, for better or worse.
God has a heart for others. Our choice to follow God affects others; God invites us to be involved in the work He is doing in their lives.
When a boy shared a few loaves and fish, thousands were fed, because God multiplied a small act of kindness.
When Daniel's 3 friends (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) stood up for their faith at the entrance to the fiery furnace, an entire nation learned about God. Daniel 3:14-30
When we take a stand to obey Christ, we don’t always know who will hear about it.
But we can always know that God will use acts of faith and obedience for His glory.
John Piper wrote, "God created us for this: to live our lives in a way that makes him look more like the greatness and the beauty and the infinite worth that he really is. This is what it means to be created in the image of God."
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
