Lesson 844: Generosity in 3 John, Pt.5
2 Cor.9:11 You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.
2 Cor.1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
We need to honestly examine our lives; how do we respond to the needs around us? If we’ve hesitated to be generous, we need to ask God for the grace to change.
Any believer, by God’s power, can begin to bear the fruit of generosity, and be conformed to the image of Christ.
Rom.15:13-14 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope… you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
