Race Day Nutrition
Race morning is not the time to experiment with a new type of pre-run food.
Stick with foods you've tried in training. Pre-race foods like energy bars,
toast, slow cook oatmeal and brown rice are often the easiest to digest and
provide the long-lasting energy you need to make it to the finish line. Drink a
full liter of water between waking up and the race start. It's important to
start the run well hydrated.

In the days leading up to your race, increase your intake of complex
carbohydrates, like whole grains, pastas, potatoes, brown rice, or
sweet potato. Make sure to increase your intake of water, as this will help
you store those carbohydrates for the race.

The excitement and nerves before a big race can affect your sleep.
Limit your caffeine and alcohol intake in the evenings during the week
before the race.
#RunLocalFirst
