Church Planting and Discipleship
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Gal 6:9)

Have you ever wondered: what’s taking so long? Have you ever asked yourself: will there ever be any progress? Maybe those queries are foreign to your situation, but they nag the church planter!

And that’s where you come in! Thanks so much for praying for us and for praying for Raval. Without a doubt, Prayers offered by those who have God's approval are effective. (James 5:16)

As part of the staff of The International Church of Barcelona, we are busy plus we consistently have contact and build relationships with a host of people from many nations, but our growing and vibrant mid-week gathering in Raval is the highlight of our endeavors; it is what we believe to be the first fruits towards a full-blown ministry center in this urban neighborhood!

For months we’ve asked you to pray for us to find a building to rent. Admittedly patience has often worn thin. But last week hope arrived!

We scheduled a coffee with our friends from Agape (the Western European arm of Campus Crusade for Christ International), expecting a casual chat to touch base since we hadn’t seen them all summer. Not so!! They own a fabulous building in Raval and offered to rent it to us several times a week. We let them know that we are highly interested in their offer and we are waiting on them to contact us to begin negotiations.

This is would be a fabulous step forward. The first thing we could do is move our growing mid-week gathering to this location so that it could continue to grow. We’d love to begin developing relationships in the community through language interchange sessions once a week in that location. We’d also be able to begin a prayer center there.

Praise Reports:
  • Good relationship and cooperation with other ministries & Christian groups.
  • Raval mid-week gathering is growing: 1 new believer and 2 young believers are being discipled.
  • Prayer focus and interest is budding in the group and most are making contacts with neighbors etc.

Prayer Requests:
  • Favorable outcome of negotiations for the rental several days a week of the Agape building in Raval.
  • Prayer walks are scheduled on October 11 & 19.
  • For our stamina and discernment.

So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord's service is ever useless.  (1 Cor. 15:58)
