Dear Friend,

We have some Exciting News in this update!

Jonah, DeAnna, Joshua and David Anderson
Thank you for your prayers and for your financial partnership.  After much prayer, walking through discouragement and wondering what the Lord has next; David has accepted a new assignment within Wycliffe. The position came through a Lord-guided channel.

David’s grandparents live in a retirement community and have a next door neighbor named Fred.  Fred encouraged David to contact his grandson, Jamie, a missionary with Wycliffe in Orlando.  Jamie shared about a position he thought would fit well with David’s skill set.  We thought it sounded like an exciting challenge and good fit.  Jamie ended the conversation by sharing the verse Acts 1:8 with David, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

We have been witnesses in many nations.  David could easily fill an IT (Information Technology) role within Wycliffe. However, he could use his talents and skills to share with other IT professionals about the greater need of IT missionaries.  He could fill one position or shoot for the stars to share his witness and help numerous IT professionals interested in serving in missions to get plugged into an IT role.  We are taking the leap of faith in serving in this recruitment role.

The new assignment will be a remote assignment, meaning we’ll continue living in Missouri.  David will be working from home and traveling when necessary.  His hours won’t be typical office hours, as much discussion with IT professionals considering serving with Wycliffe will take place in the evenings and on weekends.  We would like to start the new position when our furlough time comes to an end in June 2016.  In order to start serving in this role, we must have 100% of the budget established for us by Wycliffe.  God provides for our financial needs through individuals and churches who partner with us in support of Bible translation.

In January we will be kicking off a 100% in the first 100 days of 2016 campaign.  In the first 100 days of 2016 we will be meeting with individuals about joining our team or increasing their current partnership level.  Our goal is to reach 100% of our ministry budget in the first 100 days.  We’ll be contacting you about how you can join in!

Prayer Requests

  • Praise for His guidance in this new assignment
  • Preparing for the 100 days campaign and finances in the meantime
  • Cameroon - there is increased violence in the Far North and in the East
  • DeAnna has been in communication about a personnel role.  Please pray with her for the Lord’s guidance to a role that is a good fit.
Did you know that over fifteen thousand corporations will match their employee contributions to Wycliffe.  Please check to see if your employer will match your contributions.
