The annual enrollment period for 2016 health, dental, vision and other insurance programs ends Thursday, Oct. 15, and we want to make sure all Knoxville-area employees are aware of two important messages:
- Tennova facilities and affiliated physicians will not be in-network with Cigna LocalPlus for 2016 coverage. An updated list of Cigna LocalPlus in-network hospitals is available here. A listing of the 135 Tennova physicians leaving the Cigna LocalPlus network is available here.
- UT Medical Center and its affiliated physicians will be in-network for both Cigna and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee networks for 2016 coverage. A listing of the 612 UT Medical Center physicians joining Cigna for 2016 can be found here.
Check provider networks to make sure your preferred doctors, hospitals and centers are in-network, and select your insurance carrier (Cigna or BlueCross BlueShield) accordingly.
Now is the time to:
- Enroll in programs
- Change providers or options
- Add dependents
- Cancel coverage
The decisions you make during the enrollment period are effective Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2016.

The deadline to enroll and/or make changes for 2016 is 5:30 p.m. EDT, Thursday, Oct. 15, unless you have a qualifying event or family status change during the year.
Instructions for using the state’s self-service website are available, and login and password information have been mailed to home addresses. If you did not receive this information or are having trouble using the state’s online system, call 844-330-9100.
