We are a Christ-following community that brings ourselves and
others closer to God.
Who Are Methodists? Methodists are people who put their beliefs into action. This Saturday we served at Casa Maria. One of our young adults, Tyler Jones, used his landscaping skills to clean up the yard and trim trees.
It's time to start thinking about who you can bring to the Fall Festival! This will be a fun community event and a great way to introduce your friends and family to Catalina! There is a video here that you can share on your Facebook timeline and there are invite cards you
can pick up in the entrance to the sanctuary and in fellowship hall. Catalina Festival Planning Meeting is going to be held on Sunday, 10/18 at 12:15pm in room H230.  Those that are still interested in helping with the Festival are encouraged to fill out the form online or call the church office.

YOUTH NEWS

Youth Group meets this Sunday! Join us from 5-7pm! We start with a couple of fun activities, and then we eat dinner, have discussion, look at part of the Bible, learn to pray and share what's going on in our lives.  We will learn a new way to pray! We will each make or finish our own set of prayer beads, and we will learn how to use them! 5-7pm! Hopefully I’ll have time to set up the volleyball net. Bring a friend! Meet outside Fellowship Hall to begin.

October Youth News can be found here!

Red-Blue Game Saturday October 17 The game is SOLD OUT, but I’ve got 25 tickets! Come and bring a friend! This is the annual Arizona Wildcats Men's Basketball intersquad game and slam dunk contest. The game begins at 1pm. Here is how you can reserve tickets. Email Richard, message him on Facebook, or text him (403-2403) and let him know how many tickets you need. Tickets are reserved for youth, young adults, and their families until next week. When the church email goes out next week, I'll let you know if I have any tickets left and how you can reserve them.

Nature of Scripture

How and when was the Bible written?  Is the Bible inspired?  Inerrant?  Infallible?  Please join Pastor Matt Ashley for group discussion of Adam Hamilton’s book, Making Sense of the Bible.  We’ll meet on Monday evenings (6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.) from October 12 through November 9 in Room H232.  To register, please pick up your book from the Church Office.  (Requested Donation:  $15).

Online Giving

Did you know that giving to support God's work through Catalina UMC is as simple as clicking here? It is!

There is MUCH MORE!

There is a good online devotional here.
Read about everything going on at Catalina in the Catalina News!

By the way, church news and church event photos are always welcome!
Send submissions to richard@catalinamethodist.org by Tuesday noon. We intentionally keep this email brief (so we cannot include everything) and we intentionally keep it about Catalina (so, please, no requests to announce outside events). If you are submitting a photo, send it to richard.lee.jones@gmail.com (Gmail works better with large attachments like photos).

FROM SAUL TO PAUL
The Conversion of Saul the Persecutor, was, according to the New Testament, an event that led him to cease persecuting early Christians. Then how did he come to be known as Paul? Chuck tries to straighten out the confusion (or add to it).Watch here!
