14th Annual Pigtown Festival

It’s not everyday that you get to enjoy a quality pig race!  That’s why you need to head to Pigtown (700-900 blocks of Washington Blvd in Southwest Baltimore) this Saturday, October 10 12pm-7pm.  Besides tons of piggy-themed fun there will be live music, arts and crafts, and lots of local food and drink!

The festival pays homage to the fact that the neighborhood was Baltimore's #1 butcher district during the construction of the B&O Railroad in the 1800s.  "The Squeakness," the pig race, symbolizes the trip the little piggies had to make through the streets from the cargo vessels to the butcher shops.
